Cecilia Hylton joined Barr in 2017 as its first communications associate. She supports the expanding work of Barr's communications team in its digital strategy and online platforms, and in integrating communications with Barr’s grantmaking, projects, and new initiatives.
Before joining Barr, Cecilia worked as a public school teacher for five years in Cambridge and Acton, Massachusetts, where she taught history and government to high school students. In that time, she served as a faculty advisor for an environmental advocacy group and as a mentor for Senior-year research projects in U.S. and world history.
Cecilia earned her master’s degree in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and her Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of William and Mary. She lives in Jamaica Plain with her husband, Brendan.
