Joe Rodriguez

Grants Management Assistant

Joe has been a member of Barr's Grants Management team since June 2022. He assists with all aspects of the grantmaking lifecycle and is responsible for internal administrative items as well as managing Barr's membership with fellow philanthropic-serving partners. He is a very active member of the PEAK Grantmaking network as well as Hispanics in Philanthropy and greatly enjoys connecting and learning from fellow members in the philanthropic space.

Before Barr, Joe spent 6 years in the nonprofit arts and human services sector where he served as the Clinical Program Coordinator at Gateway Arts – a studio arts center that serves adult artists with disabilities in Brookline, MA. He also worked at the Brookline Music School providing administrative support to their operations team. He is an alumnus of Boston College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Clinical Concentration and is a proud former deejay of BC's student-run radio station, 90.3 WZBC.

An avid appreciator of film and musical arts, Joe greatly enjoys engaging with Boston’s arthouse theaters and vibrant live musical performance communities. He is personally passionate about increasing equity in the spaces of disability access as well as LGTBQ+ rights. Joe hails from the Chicagoland area and loves anything and everything Chicago, but has lived in Boston for 10+ years and now proudly identifies as a "Bostonian".
