Alexandra Oliver-Dávila

Alexandra Oliver-Dávila Alexandra Oliver-Dávila is the Executive Director of Sociedad Latina, the oldest Latino organization in Boston, located in Mission Hill.  She has worked in the field of youth development in Boston for over 14 years.
 
Since becoming Executive Director of Sociedad Latina in 1999, Ms. Oliver-Dávila has more than doubled the agency's budget, diversified and broadened its funding base, and increased the number of paid youth leader positions from 8 to over 60 per year.  Ms. Oliver-Dávila has also helped Sociedad Latina develop collaborative programs with myriad other community-based organizations, and she serves as co-chair of Boston Youth Services Network (BYSN).

Other achievements during her leadership include founding LILAAC (Latinos In Leadership Action And Change), a parent organizing program focusing on education reform within the Boston Public Schools; a partnership with the Maurice J. Tobin and Mission Grammar Schools to provide an after-school academic enrichment program for middle school students; a partnership with Mission Hill Church to provide a summer program for youth ages six to thirteen; and a collaboration with Hyde Square Task Force and Whittier Street Health Center to hire Youth Community Organizers.
 
Ms. Oliver-Dávila previously worked as Executive Director of Hyde Square Task Force and for the Boston Public Health Commission's Tobacco Control Program; The Medical Foundation/ The Prevention Center; and Hispanic Office of Planning & Evaluation (HOPE) Peer Mentor Program.
 
She has received numerous awards including a Community Leader Award from Freedom House; a Hero Among Us Award from the Boston Celtics; Hyde Square Task Force's Appreciation Award; and a Certificate of Recognition from Mayor Thomas Menino. 
 
Ms. Oliver-Dávila has a Bachelor of Arts from Emmanuel College.
